With the new Battle Pet system recently added to World of Warcraft you have an additional opportunity to make gold in the game. By learning the system, and understanding how you can load up on the most desirable pets you can start earning money.
How Battle Pets Generate Gold?
You can make money off of battle pets by selling them off or trading them to other players on your realm. Any of the companion pets that you get your hands on can be caged up and listed on the auction house for sale. While many of these easy-to-get pets aren’t going to be worth much money, the more difficult to find pets should be worth a decent amount.
Determining Which Pets can Be Sold
Not all of the battle pets are sellable and in order to determine which ones are going to generate a profit for you, you need to learn which can be sold and which cannot.
Blizzard has already stated that they do not want wild pets being sold among players, and because of this you cannot place a wild pet in a cage.
That move severely limits the number of rare pets that you can get your hands on, but there is still a handful of companion pets with the rare status that you can list for sale.
Farming Rare Pets for Resale
The only ways that you can make consistent profits with Battle pets is learning which rare pets can be farmed and deciding which ones are the best for you.
The two main ways that you will be able to get your hands on several of the same rare pet is to farm pets that are drops off of monsters such as the Phoenix Hatchling and Mr. Grubbs, or to get pets the few pets that are available through mining and fishing.

Each of these pets can be obtained several times and it is up to you to decide which ones are the most profitable or realistic on your realm.
Picking Your Target
When you start of your research you need to look at the auction house to figure out which of these pets are worth a large amount of money. After you know which battle pets are worth the most it is time to decide how difficult they are to farm and if you can farm them regularly for resale.
In order to do this you just have to learn what you need to do to obtain the pet and then decide if you can get them fast enough for the method to be worthwhile.
Battle Pets create an interesting farming goal for people looking to increase their gold supply and they will at least add a little variety to your grinding if nothing else.
